Our Story

Our love of fragrance and creativity is where it all began, never too far away from a perfumers' counter or craft aisle.

A particularly challenging time in our lives was unexpectedly presented to us, and our family, in the form of grief. Nothing can prepare anyone for the emotional turbulence that grievance throws at you and suddenly, quiet became so loud!

Now was the best time to focus on something that only I could control, crafting. Once the little people in our lives drifted off to sleep, the headphones went on and head down to creating. A concrete vessel of some kind was created and definitely needed development. Here is where the idea sparked candle making, I mean, we purchased one weekly (on average, of course) and loved fragrances.  We became excited with ideas.

Fast forward tons (exaggeration) of wax, fragrance oils and the never ending testing that is required to ensure safety, finally a finished candle that we could respectfully enjoy. This one perfect candle was exactly the solace that we both needed. The flame dancing in the ambient mood lit lounge, the crackle from the wooden wick (posh I know), the power of scent and light soothing the soul and elevating the mood was something else. 

 Inspired by the feeling it gave, we embarked on creating wax melts so we could share it with our loved ones so they too could endure the soothing qualities of aroma and light, like us. They were a big hit and here was where the foundations lay for what would become Balm. Candle Company. 

What began as a personal grievance coping mechanism soon evolved into a full-fledged commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability and community. Our dedication to quality is evident in every aspect of our products, from the meticulously selected ingredients to the careful hand-poured process. We believe that one candle created a balm moment that will stay with us forever, which is why we pour our hearts into creating scented products that evoke your own personal memories, evoke emotions and fuel your own interpretation of the scent notes. 

Our commitment extends beyond crafting exceptional products to aroma your safe space, we are also deeply committed to environment responsibility. That is why we use paraffin free waxes (paraffin is found in exhaust fumes). Our natural wax is a blend of soy, coconut, rapeseed and white bees wax (the outsider layer as to not disturb natures pollen harvesters). All of our packaging is eco-friendly to reduce our ecological footprint. 

As we embark furthermore on our adventure as Balm.
